The College of Journalism and Mass Communication is a pioneer and will certainly contribute greatly to Nepali journalism by producing professional media people.

The college is committed to creating a student-oriented environment and to preparing students to face the challenges of a career in the media. CMCJ equipped me with adequate knowledge and the skills for mass communication and journalism. I am extremely pleased to be a part of the college family.

Establishment of CJMC plays a vital role to fulfill the lack of professionalism in journalism in the country. After being a pioneer institution to start Development Communication with the affiliation of the Purbanchal University, CJMC has also taken initiative for contributing to the development sector of the country.

Development communication commonly refers to the application of communication strategies and principles in the developing countries like Nepal. It is derived from theories of development and social change that identified the main problems of the post-war world in terms of a lack of development or progress equivalent to western countries. Also in Nepal, communication is being used as a major tool/part of development precess since the last few years. But the lack of professionals in this sector is becoming a great barrier to its effective implementation.

Working in the media sector, my interest is to be affiliated with any development organization. I was searching for the relevant course to enhance my professionalism and knowledge. My search ended when I knew that CJMC started Masters in Development Communication.

Professional & qualified teachers and friendly environment at CJMC enhance my enthusiasm for the knowledge and professionalism in the sector of Development Communication. I feel that the course will definitely be helpful in developing the professionalism required for working with development projects in NGOs/INGOs.

Four years back, when I had joined CJMC, my dream of joining a good collage for higher studies came true. It has given me a chance to pursue my dreams, expand my horizons and learn more than I could ever imagine about myself.

Teachers here are very enthusiastic and amicable which really helps you get in your subject. Development Communication program is excellent and fine-tune – it's the first time in Nepal. It is definitely great learning. I find myself lucky and feel proud to be a part of CJMC. It has given me a great opportunity

Actually, the doors to my career in journalism began only after I admitted in CJMC, a platform for professional journalists in Nepal.

Just having stepped only on third semester, I have been able to win year’s journalism Award 2006’ given by the Bhutan Press Union (BPU).
This indicates that the college has been long-standing as the only esteemed college for journalists who deserve to get enrolled academically. CJMC, for me, would undoubtedly occupy a space of ‘milestone’ for those who are enthusiastic to professionally move ahead especially in the media sector.

After the establishment of the CJMC, my wish for a Master’s degree in mass communication was fulfilled. I have found this college very much professional in terms of providing academic knowledge and practical skills. Professional and well reknowned teachers have added the quality of education at this college. I have all praises for the leadership of the principal of this college Dr Manju Mishra and I believe her efforts and dedication will lead this college towards progress. I am proud of being a student of this College.
