| Help
us Creat the First University of Mass Communication in South
Asia :: |

|

We want to create a University of Mass
Communication because we believe it can help Nepal become
a confident and prosperous country.
We believe the country needs young people who combine
all the skills of the modern journalists with an awareness
of the social issues which confront the country –
young men and women who can play a major role, through
the media, in making all the people aware of the issues
and possibilities that confront them.

Help us realize that ambition. We are
hoping to raise enough money to buy land and create
a purpose built university.
We need money to ensure that our students have access
to all the technologies involved in mass communication
today.
We need at least three million Nepali rupees –
about 500,000$ US - to begin to realize our dream.
If you cannot help us directly, any advice on sources
of finance would be welcome.
We would also welcome help for the students through
sponsorship or scholarship programmes.

Opinions |

“The college’s commitment to providing
courses which embrace both academic and professional
traditions is impressive as is the breadth of active
and relevant journalism experience of the teaching staff.
“Its determination to provide routes into journalism
for young women in general, and the financial support
it offers to young women from poorer backgrounds in
particular, is admirable.”
Bob Bennett, a British journalist
who helped set up the University of Sheffield’s
Department of Journalism Studies in the U.K and taught
there for ten years.
