Nearly 80% of the students are working in different publication houses, government and private owned TV Channels, FM Stations, on line news agencies and NGOs and INGOs.

In the near future the college intends to develop into a "Center for Media Development in Nepal" by developing it to a deemed “University of Mass Communication.”

THE CJMC F.M. 106 MHz

College of Journalism and Mass Communication feels proud to setup the first student run FM Station in Nepal (CJMC FM 106MHz). No other colleges in Nepal, do have their own student run radio.

The FM went on air with its own programme from 1st September, 2007. The FM studio is equipped with modern equipments and facilities. The FM radio is registered as community radio. Thus, we are the leading journalism education institution in Nepal by establishing its own FM.Click More

The key objective of the CJMC FM is to serve the entire media community including the media professionals and communicators, media houses and students. CJMC FM wants:

1.
To provide students with the hands on experience along side the theoretical knowledge on radio journalism.
2.
To develop an FM station dedicated to education, journalism and development.
3.
To provide a platform to major donor countries and agencies working in Nepal to air programmes on their educational and development activities in Nepal in English and their countries' achievements in cultural, educational, Scientific and social sectors.
4.
To promote educational, social and cultural development of the donar countries.
5.
To create social awareness.
6
To work as a bridge between the local and global communities to fill the existing gap between them.
7
We intend to air a majority of innovative programmes produced by the students.

Approach
One of our major target is to develop the CJMC FM 106 MHz into a radio of international standard by airing international programmes, and by working in close association with the international media community. This association may take any form including programme exchange. The CJMC FM will also be developed as a part of the platform to transform the college into a deemed "University of Mass communication".

We intend to develop CJMC FM different from the existing FM stations by working with the international media community for the global stregthening of the sector in this 'borderless' era.

The CJMC FM targets to air 51 percent Neplai programmes and 49 percent foreign programmes.

Our effort to run an educational FM Radio will also benefit the International Media Community by providing a common platform to come and work together for a common goal. This is how we can make a difference in comparison to the existing radios in Nepal. In the age of globalization we see no borders thus; our intention is to work with International Media Community to strengthen media globally for peace, democracy and humanrights.

CJMC FM exclusively focuses on mass communication, oriented programmes to benefit the young generation by providing information about international media institutions, organizations and fellowships where student will be informed with a slogan "Communication for change".

We are the leading journalism institution as a media college of difference not only in Nepal but also in South Asia. Join your hands with us.
